This course is based around the NHS Leadership Academy’s leadership framework for use by health professionals across the NHS.

Whilst the framework was originally generic, the RCM has now given it a midwifery focus and has built in examples in practice moving from student midwife to senior practitioner and a range of activities to support your learning.

By the end of this course you will have developed a good understanding of the 5 core leadership skills as follows:

• Demonstrating personal qualities
• Working with others
• Managing services
• Improving services
• Setting direction

Also, you will have the opportunity to address the more strategic approach to leadership through the units on creating the vision and delivering the strategy.
