The Care Certificate sets out the minimum care standards that health workers follow in their practice. The standards are generic across the wider health and social care services. The standards have been developed by Health Education England (HEE) and Skills for Health (SfH), and they link to National Occupational Standards (NOS) and can lead to qualifications to support lifelong learning.

Whilst the Care Certificate is designed to support staff new into post it can be very useful for experienced support workers to complete the standards to provide a refresher and to explore what may be new in practice.

This module is designed to help you apply the standards in a maternity setting.

Study time: 15 minutes but each standard in the Care Certificate will take additional time to complete.
