Every year, there are thousands of victims of child trafficking and midwives and maternity staff are well placed to recognise trafficking or slavery issues.
This i-learn module is designed for midwives and support workers to better understand what child trafficking is and how to ensure that victims are protected from further harm.
By the end of this i-learn module, you should:
- understand the definition of trafficking and how it applies to children
- be aware of the indicators of trafficking and be better able to identify a potential victim
- understand how you might encounter a trafficked child in your day to day practice
- know what referrals should be made when you suspect a child has been trafficked
