The Care Certificate is a set of fifteen generic standards to support the practice of non-registered carers. Because of the generic nature of the standards it can be challenging to appreciate how they apply in maternity.

This module provides some additional resources and signposting for Standard 2. BBefore completing this module it is advisable to complete the module Applying the Care Certificate to practice: a guide for support workers, which explains how to complete the assessments.

After completing this module you will be able to:

• Identify relevant additional resources to help you complete your Care Certificate
• Establish useful resources and links in your portfolio
• Develop a learning plan for your progress

Study time: 15 minutes for this short module but Care Certificate Standard 2 will take additional time to complete. Also the building of your portfolio should be ongoing.
