Being influential is a key aspect of everyone’s role. To have an effective and efficient service, the organisation need to work together, bringing varied and specialist roles to work collaboratively. Maternity units and the NHS are complex environments; best understood by the people who work in them, this means that maternity staff are best place to see what needs to be done and to influence.

After completing this module you will:

  • Understand some of the skills and behaviours needed to influence others
  • Understand the unique role of midwives, support workers, student midwives and medical staff on influencing care
  • Be able to utilise simple tools to enhance influencing skills
